This story sickens me to the core. With such staggering low population ownership, no wonder there were so many poor people to do the punishing and bounty hunting. The organizations who are calling for reparations probably deserve them, but attack by legal means the 1.5% who owned slaves and the local governments that manipulated the laws for unlawful gain. The American taxpayer should not be responsible. That money is still here and the families alive and well. That's your target.
